The latest film from acclaimed filmmaker Kiyoshi Kurosawa, known for works like “Cure” and “Pulse.”
Ryosuke Yoshii (Masaki Suda) works at a small factory and makes extra money reselling items like medical devices and handbags under the pseudonym “Ratel.” Guided by his college classmate Muraoka (Masataka Kubota), who suggests a lucrative proposal, Yoshii chooses instead to pursue his own questionable activities, trusting only his growing bank balance.
With help from Sano (Daiken Okudaira), a local youth, his reselling business flourishes—until unsettling incidents arise. Suspicious vehicles, a broken window, stalking shadows, and online harassment contribute to a growing atmosphere of hostility. As the situation escalates, a chaotic mob targets Yoshii, whose once peaceful life unravels amidst the turmoil.
